Many big car companies such as Volkswagen, Maruti Suzuki, Audi and others can be seen hiking their car’s prices. And now we see Skoda Slavia joining the list. This is an attribute of rising inflation. Skoda Auto vehicles have a 2 percent increase from January 1, 2024. According to the company, it is because of the increasing operational and input costs.
It is interesting to know that Skoda Auto India achieved a milestone of over 1 lakh unit sales in 2 years. And this was possible because of the sale of its two key car models: the Kushaq and Slavia.
Skoda Slavia’s Price Hike
The Skoda Slavia is a five-seater with a 5-star Global NCAP rating. The previous starting price of Skoda Slavia was Rs.10.98 lakh, which is now 11.53 lakh and goes up to Rs. 19.20 lakh in the ex-showroom. The price hike range for Slavia varies from Rs.14,000 to Rs. 64,000. It depends on its variant.

Skoda Kushaq’s Price Hike
The Skoda Kushaq is also more expensive than its previous price. Earlier, the Skoda Kushaq was available for Rs. 10.89 lakh but is now worth 1 lakh more. The Skoda Kushaq ranges from Rs. 11.98 lakh to Rs. 19.79 lakh (ex-showroom).

The entry-level variants of Slavia and Kushaq have seen the maximum price hike. The overall cost is Rs. 16,000 to Rs. 1 lakh more now.it is also to be noted that the price of both models’ Elegance and Matte editions has not changed. It is also interesting to note that the hike in the price of the models mentioned above does not include any new mechanical upgrades or new feature cost of the Skoda Kodiaq ranges from Rs. 38.50 lahks to Rs. 40.0 lahks (ex-showroom).
Both models are based on the MQB-AO-IN platform and share two powertrain options: 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine options. The Slavia Sedan produces 113 bhp while the Kushaq develops 148 bhp. Three transmission options are available: a six-speed manual, a seven-speed DSG unit, and an automatic torque converter.
Conclusion
The cost of Skoda Slavia and Kushaq cars goes up a lot. It can be between Rs 16,000 and Rs 1 lakh more because prices increase due to too much inflation or extra running costs. Skoda Auto India did a great job selling over 100,00 units in just two years. This success came mostly from their popular models called Kushaq and Slavia. Even though the cost has increased, both models’ Elegance and Matte versions haven’t changed.
